The Residential Community of "Pellaro 3" is situated approximately two kilometres from the center of the township Pellaro, in direction south east of the city of Reggio Calabria, on the State road 106 for Taranto. The "alternative", therapeutic community is one of the better maintained Residential Communities. It is in fact a villa of two floors with a large spacious garden surrounding the perimeters.

It is capable of accommodating approximately 20 patients, all of which are involved in a rehabilitation program oriented according to a systems-relational model through the supportive use of group activities for the development of social skills competencies.

Its staff is composed of nine educators and a coordinator that rotate on two six hour work shifts to sustain the rehabilitation programs (hours 8-14 and 14-20).

The technical clinical staff of the cooperative is composed of a neuro-psychiatrist, psychologist supervisor, social worker and coordinator, all of whom meet weekly involving the rehabilitation staff workers on various operational levels. These range from: in-service training, to the clinical supervision of the therapeutic psycho-social rehabilitation programs, to the drawing up of the treatment plans and the engagement and involvement of patients in the program individual and group activities.

The rehabilitation program structure of the Residential Community of "Pellaro 3", and of all the Residential Communities that the Cooperative manages, is guided by a systems-relationship method based on the model created by Mark Spivak.

The group activities for the development of social competencies in support of the rehabilitation programs are:

1. "Social-Recreational" Group;
2. "Outside" activities.
